Lincoln City Netball Club Overview
Lincoln City Netball Club was established in 1993 and is one of the longest-standing netball clubs in Lincolnshire. Over more than three decades, the club has built a comprehensive programme that supports players from junior beginnings through to senior competitive performance, reflecting both longevity and dedication to the sport.
The club has a proven record of achievement at regional and national level. Over the last decade, Lincoln City Netball Club has qualified for National Junior Club Finals on multiple occasions, including in 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. In the most recent three seasons, both age groups have successfully qualified each year, reflecting consistency in performance and depth across the programme. The club is currently in a strong position to qualify for National Finals again in 2026. These outcomes are underpinned by a clear development pathway that enables athletes to progress through the club while competing at increasingly demanding levels.
At senior level, Lincoln City Netball Club currently fields two regional squads competing in Division 2 and Division 3 of the East Midlands Regional League. These are the highest-level regional senior squads among junior clubs in Lincolnshire, providing a clear performance pathway and offering the highest playing opportunities available for young players within the county. The club operates with a shared ambition to progress towards the National Premier League level.
Lincoln City Netball Club has a strong history of players representing Lincolnshire County across all age groups. In the current season, 21 athletes from the club are representing Lincolnshire across two age groups. In addition, the club has four athletes selected into NPL U17 squads, one athlete within a U21 PDP programme, and eight athletes involved in U18 PDP programmes. The club has also supported athletes progressing onto the England Netball pathway. Lincoln City Netball Club remains the only club within Lincolnshire with athletes currently progressing through recognised NPL pathways.
The club is supported by a highly qualified and experienced workforce, including five Level 2 coaches and six Level 1 coaches, and holds England Netball Silver CAPS accreditation. Coaching experience within the club includes county and franchise pathway coaching and leadership roles, former senior England players, trainee sport psychologists, and qualified teachers working across a range of age groups. The club also benefits from dedicated strength and conditioning provision and access to physiotherapists, supporting athlete performance, development, and welfare.
Lincoln City Netball Club operates a clearly defined performance section alongside a recreational section, ensuring appropriate opportunities for players at all stages of their netball journey. Teams
compete across a variety of local, regional, and national leagues and competitions, providing regular exposure to high-level match play. The club continues to build on its established foundations while maintaining a consistent presence in performance environments.
