Pam Sturton founded
Lincoln City Netball Club in 1994.
The club membership at that time totaled 20 playing members, now
in the year 2001 we have over 100 members playing in teams from
under 10 to under 17 age groups.
Starting with friendly matches against local teams, progressing
through to playing in tournaments as far afield as Southampton,
Brean Sands and Sunderland, the standard of Netball played has improved
rapidly.
The current U16 squad were East Midlands Champions for the second year
running in 1999. In 1999 the current U15 squad were also East Midlands
Champions.
The younger squads are following in
their footsteps - the current U13s and U14s were unbeaten as they won the 1999/2000 Nottingham Junior League titles in
their age groups.

| The current U13s were the
2000/2001 Nottingham Junior League Champions for a the second
year running - again unbeaten all season. In the same season
they were the East Midlands Champions and came 3rd out of 50
teams at the annual Pontins Tournament.
The current senior squad reached the U16
National Finals whilst they were still all U15. A remarkable
achievement. Five of this squad have been selected for the East
Midlands Development Squad and one player (Laura Hudson) has
been selected for an England Talent One Trial this coming October
2001.
The club has been represented at County level by girls from all ages..
The club is starting to travel further afield and for the first time in April 2000, Pam and a mixed
under 14 and 15 team-toured South Africa playing both under19 High School and Township teams. Plans
and fund raising events are now well under way for our next
international tour - Barbados 2003.
Lincoln City Netball club has come a long way in seven years.
